Salary: £53,045–£63,545 per annum (depending on experience) + £7,500 Welcome Bonus

Shift and Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
Setting: 4-bedroom children's residential home
Client Group: Children and young people aged 8–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)

This is an exciting leadership opportunity to take responsibility for a children's residential home, supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties while ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

Company and Role:

• Overall responsibility for the management of a children's residential home
• Supporting children aged 8–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties
• Leading, motivating and developing a residential care team
• Maintaining compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements
• Creating a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment
• Promoting positive outcomes, independence and emotional wellbeing

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day management of the home
• Leading and supporting residential care staff
• Ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are consistently followed
• Maintaining regulatory compliance and preparing for Ofsted inspections
• Overseeing care plans, risk assessments and individual support strategies
• Supporting recruitment, induction, supervision and staff performance
• Managing resources and maintaining operational standards
• Liaising with local authorities, social workers, families and external professionals
• Promoting a positive culture focused on stability and therapeutic care
• Ensuring the home provides a safe, welcoming and structured environment

Successful Candidate:

• Previous experience within children's residential care
• Experience in a management or senior leadership position
• Level 3 qualification in Children's and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
• QCF Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to work towards it
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and Children's Homes Regulations
• Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and inspection processes
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop staff teams
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Confident decision-maker with a calm and resilient approach
• Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people
