Job Description:

Buyer – Manufacturing | Nottingham (Hybrid) | £50,000 – £55,000

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with an established manufacturing business in Nottingham to recruit an experienced Buyer. This is a key role within a well-regarded procurement function, offering real ownership of supplier relationships and category spend, along with the flexibility of hybrid working.

The Role
As Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and securing materials, components and services to support production, ensuring the right quality, at the right price, at the right time. You will work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering and Quality to keep supply running smoothly while driving cost and performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a defined portfolio of suppliers and categories, building strong, commercially sound relationships
• Negotiate pricing, terms and contracts to deliver measurable cost savings
• Place and manage purchase orders, ensuring on-time, in-full delivery against production schedules
• Monitor supplier performance, addressing quality, delivery and cost issues as they arise
• Identify, qualify and onboard new suppliers, balancing cost, risk and resilience
• Work with internal stakeholders on forecasting, demand changes and new product introductions
• Maintain accurate records and data within the ERP/MRP system
• Support continuous improvement and risk mitigation across the supply base

About You

• Proven experience in a buying or procurement role within a manufacturing environment
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills, with a track record of delivering savings
• Confident working with an ERP/MRP system and comfortable analysing spend and supplier data
• Excellent communication skills, able to influence at all levels internally and externally
• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities
• MCIPS (or working towards it) is desirable but not essential
