Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Home

Location: Stapleford, Nottinghamshire
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Full Time | Permanent | Children’s Residential Care

We are recruiting a Deputy Manager for a children’s residential home in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children’s Home Deputy Manager, Deputy Home Manager or Senior Residential Support Worker looking to progress within children’s residential care.

Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will help lead the day to day running of the children’s home, support the residential staff team and maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Registered Manager with the day to day running of the children’s home
• Leading, motivating and supporting Residential Support Workers and Senior Support Workers
• Providing guidance and leadership during shifts
• Supporting staff supervision, development and performance
• Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and records are accurate and up to date
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and child protection
• Supporting young people with routines, education, appointments and activities
• Managing challenging situations calmly and professionally
• Promoting positive outcomes, independence and development for young people
• Supporting audits, compliance and Ofsted inspection preparation
• Ensuring Ofsted Quality Standards are maintained
• Taking responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager’s absence
• Working effectively with families, social workers and external professionals

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 Residential Childcare, Children & Young People qualification or equivalent
• Experience working within an Ofsted regulated children’s residential home
• Experience as a Deputy Manager, Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader or similar
• Full UK driving licence and ability to drive
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted Quality Standards
• Confidence leading and developing a residential childcare team
• Strong communication, organisation and record keeping skills
• Flexibility to work within a residential shift pattern
